Each year IUPAC endorses a large number of independently organized conferences, symposiums and workshops that cover a wide range of specialized topics in chemistry. Endorsement by IUPAC attests to the quality of the scientific program and indicates the host country’s assurance that scientists from all countries may participate. The conference must be located in a country represented in IUPAC by a National Adhering Organization. See program details.

IUPAC Workshop on Safety of Engineered Nanomaterials

  • This event has passed.

The IUPAC Workshop on Safety of Engineered Nanomaterials is a forum to exchange experiences, opinions and knowledge on nanosafety.
Discussion panels and presentations will focus on 4 areas: (1) the importance of characterization of nanomaterials, both as produced and in complex matrices, (2) transformations of nanomaterials when used in consumer products or released to the environment, (3) current nanotoxicology methods and gaps for environment and human health studies, and (4) challenges for risk assessment.
