Associated Organizations’ Relationship with IUPAC

Associated Organizations are international organizations that share common goals and interests with IUPAC. The scope of their activities and their reach should not be limited to any part of the world and should be stated in their statutes or constitution. The Council, IUPAC’s governing body, approves with which organizations IUPAC will be associated. In the case of apparent competition with another international organization already associated with IUPAC, the Council shall make a choice and decide with which organization IUPAC wishes to be associated, while avoiding to associate with both at the same time.

Becoming an Associated Organization

IUPAC Associated Organization membership fee is USD 50.00 per year. To apply to become an IUPAC Associated Organization, please complete the form HERE.  Associated Organizations must be approved by the IUPAC Council. If you have any questions about your organization becoming an Associated Organization of IUPAC, please ask the Executive Director, Dr. Greta Heydenrych, e-mail: [email protected].

Working with IUPAC

IUPAC encourages Associated Organizations to send representatives to its General Assembly and to relevant meetings of IUPAC bodies when joint sponsorship of meetings or other joint activities may be discussed. IUPAC offers assistance in publicizing meetings of our Associated Organizations through various channels and the IUPAC website. Associated Organizaions may submit formal proposals for IUPAC projects and if approved, may receive funding. We encourage the members of Associated Organisations to submit project proposals for consideration.
