Each year IUPAC endorses a large number of independently organized conferences, symposiums and workshops that cover a wide range of specialized topics in chemistry. Endorsement by IUPAC attests to the quality of the scientific program and indicates the host country’s assurance that scientists from all countries may participate. The conference must be located in a country represented in IUPAC by a National Adhering Organization. See program details.

  • This event has passed.

The Irkutsk National Research Technical University (https://www.istu.edu) will hold the III Baikal International Scientific Conference “Snow cover, atmospheric precipitation, aerosols: chemistry and climate” in Listvyanka (lake Baikal). This conference was initially planned to be held from March 23-27, 2020 and first postponed to September 21-25, 2020. Ultimately it is now rescheduled to be held 22-26 March 2021.

The conference has an interdisciplinary nature and is devoted to the study of the chemistry of snow cover, precipitation, aerosols of the Earth at climate change. Main topics: observation, interpretation and modeling studies of the composition of snow cover, precipitation, aerosols and physico-chemical processes in Earth’s atmosphere, including air pollution problems; the role of snow cover, precipitation, aerosols in biogeochemical cycles; chemical interaction of the oceans, the land surface and the biosphere with snow cover, precipitation, aerosols.
